  • 1 tablespoon dried ginseng root (or 2-3 slices of fresh ginseng)
  • 10 jujubes (or dried red dates)
  • 1 whole chicken or 500 g of chicken pieces
  • 4 cups of water
  • 2 slices of fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Green onions for garnish (optional)
Preparation of the recipe

Prepare the Ingredients: If using a whole chicken, cut it into pieces. Rinse the jujubes under water.

Cook the Soup: In a large pot, add the chicken, water, ginseng, jujubes, and ginger slices.

Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat and let simmer for about 1 hour.

Season: Add soy sauce, salt, and pepper to taste. Let simmer for another 10-15 minutes.

Serving: Remove from heat and serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions if desired. This soup is ideal for boosting the immune system.
